ford escort 1.8lx?

i read alot a about cars and hopefully shall be getting on a machanic course soon and it seems alot of individuals when modding/tuning there cars seem to swap certen parts of there cars with higher model parts eg fiesta 1.3 with fiesta rs turbo parts so im only wundering if my 1992 escort 1.8 lx would benerfit from a number of escort cosworth parts if so which ones and why would be very greatful for any feedback #regards sean

Can a bad igniter damage the ignition coil, or vice versa?

OK so to go into detail, my '93 Accord EX has been experiencing random jerks each immediately and then when the engine cuts out true quick, once it stalled and would not start. I have been doing alot of studying and narrowed it down to either the ignition coil of the igniter.I've a feeling the coil is weak for the reason that it failed one of the 3 resistance tests recommended by the haynes guide (passed the other 2 only fine)Immediately I also have a feeling the igniter may be at fault also, for the reason that I have been having issues amongst tachometer jumping around randomly at times, and from what I relize, one of the output ports on the igniter is for the tachometer. Also I read a number of symptoms of bad igniters and it sounds like what I am experiencing.So does it sound similar to a sure bet that they're both bad and needing to be replaced, or can I possibly get away with one or the other? Since I am broke. I would love to attempt one at a time, however I do not desire to burn out a new coil from an awful igniter, or vice versa.

Can someone tell me what company I should go with to finish my head?

I would prefer to know what would be the greatest company to go with to finish my head. As in cams, valve springs, retainers, valves, cam gears. Im running ls/vtec, the bottom end is a b18a1(ls), and the top end is a b18c1(gsr). The block is fully built with high compression pistons and bored out to a 2.0. Didnt know if that'll make a difference or not im only truly confused on what to run in my head. Can anybody pls provide me their opinions. Thank you!
