Problem with a 2000 Honda Accord and intermitent misfires? The car has run fine seeing as it was purchased new... immediately it has a dilemma where maybe one a week it is certain to do the following. It is certain to start perfectly when you first drive it... you'll stop at a store, and then when you return to the car it is certain to misfire to the point that it is certain to no longer idle... you are able to just keep it idling by holding your foot on the gas.. the ODBII codes are for misfire on 3 out of hte 6 cylinders and a for multiple misfires... I took it to the dealer, and he said not a thing was wrong... he then said he test drove it and got a studying on the EGR valve.. He replaced it and immediately it continues to do a similar thing... clearly I've no faith in the dealer and am wondering if someone else has had similar issues. It just does it after you have driven the car however not each time only randomly... more often than not it functions perfectly. Not a thing has been modified on the car it has been left entirely stock. I did wonder regarding the sensors or something related to the variable valve timing, however I assumed if the sensor or something major was failing that the dilemma would occur a lot lot more frequently (was actually hoping it would happen at all times so the mechanics could experience it first hand instead of having them only randomly change parts and earn an income while the dilemma persists).Actually the vapor lock does seem to create sense... I think it has happened on warmer days...Read more on this topic I'm going to buy a 2000 Accord with trans. problems. It works fine until it warms up. Is it......worth 1500$?
