99 honda civic ex coupe... good buy?

I am in the market for a used auto, and only found this oneIts black on black, cloth seats, automatic transmission, a/c, stock stereo, moon roof, truly nice condition (no dents, scratches, and interior looked good)It has 129,xxx miles on it. I know this is alot for an car from 99. The guy is asking 5,500. I am looking at it later this weekend (test drive, carfax, ect), however does it even now have a decent amount of miles in it?Take into account I'm a college student, not super car savy (however not stupid either). I'm on a pretty limited budget ( around 5k) and everybody seems to be recommending honda's or toyotas. Is it a great purchase? Thoughts? Thank you!

Reasking a question about problems with our 99 honda civic lx?

I asked this qestion a week ago and got a number of useful answers. The car is a 99 civic lx. A week ago it stalled on my wife, however an engine code did not go on. It started immediately. The advice was that it could be an ingition switch which still needs to be replaced on a recall. A mechanic looked at the car and the cleaned the throttle body. He did not think an ignition switch is the dilemma. He drove the car about 100 miles on errands and it did not stall.Anyway, the car began to have an irregular idle, going up two hundred rpm, then back down and up again about 3 or 4 times. An engine code went on. I cleared the code to see if it comes back on again and the idle is still wavering. Any suspicions as why the idle is acting up? I'm hoping the code comes on so that it can be read. Will the car keep with a check engine code, or ought to I take it in immediately. All assist is appreciated!!
