Biggest Rim/Tire That Will Fit My 89' Accord?

Hey guys, i've a 1989 Hond Accord LX 4 Door. I currently have a number of 16s on there, however im hoping to go bigger amongst rims. The reason im asking this is for the reason that on the back the're these arm brackets that come from the underbody and connect amongst upper body and so i dont know whats the largest rim i'm able to go with with no going to wide and all. I mean when i go over a bump, even my 16s rub the arm so ya know, i dont wanna blow a tire out having that problem. My cuz says i cant go any bigger than 17s, however my homie has an Acura amongst same arm and he has a number of 18s on there, however it is a bigger sedan at an identical time. Does this make a difference or no?

Thanks for all the Accord help, I feel a little better about my purchase?

My last question is about car dealers. Is it unusual for a dealer to trade straight up for an additional car or cars. I know it sounds crazy however I kinda desire to trade my Accord for an 07' v6 accord or an 04' Acura TSX. These cars I've discovered are about 22k OTD. Would any dealer trade me straight across for a 2006 Accord and a 2000 mercury sable, both in excellent condition? The Blue guide adds both these cars up to about 22k. Am I crazy or ought to i stick with my current (damaged goods) accord. I need a number of reassurance from a number of experts here please! Am I only too picky?
