Air conditioning problem on 1997 Honda Civic? On my 1997 Honda Civic CX hatchback, the air conditioner no longer comes on at the lowest 2 settings (out of 4). I hear the radiator fan come on when I move the switch to "1" or "2", however no air comes out of the vents. When I move the switch to "3" or "4", the air conditioner comes on, and at the correct level (no different force it has always come out at for that level).Any ideas what could cause this behavior? I only spent many cash fixing it after "grazing" a deer (spun the car and slammed driver side into a curb, bending the rear suspension) and would rather not spend a lot lot more cash on this car so I am hoping this is something I'm able to fix myself.Read more on this topic 1996 Honda Accord Air conditioning?Only picked up a 1996 Accord and the air conditioning was barely cooling. Wife took the car to the dealer who checked for leaks using dye and recharged the programme. After a week the air is once more failing . However I understand that a number of there must be a number of cooling in the programme as there's plenty of condensation coming out the drain tube. The box that the tube leads out of is cool, however air coming out the vents isn't . Turned on the heat only to see what happens and the air was very hot.Read more on this topic 95 Honda Civic Air Conditioning just died? The AC in my 95 Honda Civic only died. As it was dying, I heard a high pitched tone on the passenger side of the dash off and on when the AC was on. The fan by itself had no tone, however when I hit the AC button there would ocassionally be this tone, usually when I accelerated or decelerated. I also would hear a fluttering sound. After one day of this, theres no cold air coming out, however also no sounds when the AC button is on. The fan is blowing, only no cold air. I'll most likely purchase a recharge kit, however I had the ultimate desire to check if any of these symptoms sounded out of the ordinary and indicated a bigger problem.Read more on this topic
