How can I charging the battery in a Civic Hybrid by braking?I'm anxious not to need to drive aimlessly on the freeway to charge my battery. I've had one suggestion of putting the car in park and reving the engine to 3500 to obtain a charge. I found this just provides a partial charge. Another person informed me that Honda is correct in saying that the battery charges when the brake is engaged. Can I go to the peak of a long hill in the City by the Bay and and ride the brake to the bottom and expect to obtain a battery charge? How frequently can I do this with no needing to replace a number of part in the brakes? Which method is better for the environment?Edit question. How can I charge...Read more on this topic battery light on 93 honda accord?my bro has a 93 accord and the car runs fine, i had the alternator trialed and it is fine. brand new battery and i put in new posts for the battery. there's still a battery light on. hes been driving it for about a week only like normal however the battery light stays on. does anybody know what this could be i'd appreciate any input.Read more on this topic Anybody have problems with engine/battery/IMA lights coming on 2007 Civic Hybrid?Only bought a 2007 HCH II a few weeks ago - 1800 kms so far and I am getting engine, battery, and IMA failure lights on on the dash. The IMA programme shuts down entirely when this happens. The car still runs on the gas engine, however is very sluggish. Happens mostly on hot re-starts (stop for a brief time, then re-start the auto). Has also happened on the highway. I have read about four other cases of this in the US, however all were 2006 models - I even now have not heard of any resolution besides replacing the vehicle. My car still has not been checked out by a dealer, as the soonest appointment they could provide me is one week away.
