Civic Timing belt help...?My 2000 Civic DX has 116K miles on it. I bought it at 97k and do not know if the previous owner ever got it is timing belt changed. I removed the valve cover+ pushed aside the timing belt cover and cannot truly come to any conclusions by looking at the belt. Is there a technique to turn the belt a bit with no running the engine? (to see belt brand/possible markings. Also, what's the belt supposed to feel like? Ther ouside feels very hard, nearly metallic, however the teeth (or ribs, or whatever) are pretty soft.Read more on this topic Timing belt on 99' Civic dx hatchback?I only purchased a 99' civic hatchback dx. it has 120k miles on it.
