HELP.?Hi, my car is running great. However the temperature gauge lately has been moving back and forth, stays on persistent and the mid line like prior to, however as I drive, it kinda goes up, and then back down to the Cold side, it tend to go UP faster to the H hot side, if I've the AC on. The gauge nearly is nearly reaching the HOT indicator on the gauge. I dont see any leaks under the car at all, and the reservoir and radiator is filled with antifreeze. The upper hose is hot, so I assume the coolant is going through. What may the dilemma be. A mechanic is saying it could well be the coolant in it, may have an internal leak, or things like that. My car has 95K miles.1. I havent changed the antifreeze, since I brought the car with 50K miles, immediately has 95K miles.2. I'm able to hear the fan come and off, specially if Iam parked, so I assume the radiator fan is working ok.3. Can having an aged antifreeze with rust or slight oil cause these difficulties, I took a peek at the reservoir tank and looks a little oily, like shiny light green.4. Iam having my timing belt, water pump, and driver belts changed since Iam do for it, If the thermostat is bad, or temp gauge sensor bad, ought to the mechanic charge me for this little work.5. Is cooling programme powerflush better, than fill and drain antifreeze, he told me that service cost $85 in Newark, NJ where I live. He feels it is the thermostat, sensor or only old dirty antifreeze could well be the problem from what i describe, however I need to take the car to him following week for him to tell me. Thank you most everybody!Read more on this topic Why does only one of my cooling fans seem to work on my 89' honda accord lxi?It seems that just one of my cooling fans is working.
