California honda motor swap question?I've a 2000 civic ex, d16 with a 5 spd guide. I would like to swap in a gsr or a k20a2. What has to happen after I swap the motor to make it smog legal? Please explain the bar ref. Please read and tell me is this is possible.?My buddy only replaced the head on his 1998 non-SH prelude 2 months ago and immediately his block is going out. Apparently the engine is acting like it's practically out of oil even though it has the recommended amount. The engine is knocking however it's still drivable. The guy at the shop said he needs a new short block and thats it. The shop is a trustworthy place and we have both used them prior to. He does not have the cash to fix it and he is prepared to sell it to me for 2K.I am decent with cars and I've all the things (engine hoist and all the things) to replace it myself, however.....Do you believe that this particular problem could have caused the head or any other part to gain damaged? I'm able to afford to purchase a new/rebuilt shortblock however I would just make the deal if thats the single thing wrong with it.
