2001 Honda Civic Brake Problems?Hello, I own a 2001 Honda Civic LX, and I only got this car a week ago. Originally I'd a 95 Honda Accord EX, and i'm able to tell a difference in the brakes. The Civic is harder to brake. I go about 40mph and when i press down on the brakes, it jolts me foward then stops. And i do not press on the brakes hard either. Then when i slow down, i need to truly push on the brake pedal, where as my other honda is slowed down at the slightest touch on the brakes. I did not have difficulties with this with my other auto, is it for the reason that it is a new model and im not used to it, or is there truly a dilemma amongst brakes?Read more on this topic I have a 2006 Honda Civic with 13K on it, I am having brake problems!?On a trip I had screaming front brakes b/c they filled with dirt and gravel, Honda charged me to blow them out, immediately they're creating a metal to metal sound when it has been sitting overnight or longer. Honda is telling me that it's my responsiblity to "wash" the wheels better to prevent this and they will continue to charge me to blow out the brakes! Has anybody heard of such a thing on these Civics? This is only ONE of a record of issues I've with this auto. In all my years, even 4x4 ing I haven't ever had this dilemma. It's nearly brand new! No one I understand that drives on no different roads as I do is having this issue either! Anybody?Read more on this topic I have a new 2006 Honda Civic with 9500 miles on it..just replaced brake pads..car having......problem stopping? The car has problem stopping..and smoke billows out from under the wheel well..they have replaced the Pads twice..could this be a master cylinder problem..even the possibility of the car is new? This first occured on the left front wheel well..smoke billowing..nasty smell..then they replaced them again and this time happened on the right front wheel well..billowing smoke..and absolutely i heard a grinding noise which led me to this..sounded like bad pads..which for 9500 miles is insane to me..Also, just thing that has been replaced so far is pads..which i didnt take to a dealer since i didnt thinks pads were covered under warrantyIt turns out..that apparently on the 2006 Civic LX you truly must use OEM parts..and they did not ..the OEM parts are woking good..kinda weird if ya ask me however..so far no difficulties..Read more on this topic
