My 89 Honda Prelude won't start!?

It's an occasional thing, however it seems to happen more often in hot weather or after I had only began the car for a brief trip and turn it off. The engine will turn over, however it only will not start and the check engine light will stay on. After a just minutes, the check engine light turns off and then it is certain to start again. If I get a running start and pop the clutch it is certain to start no trouble. Anybody know what is wrong?

I have a honda prelude 91 which won't start sometimes. is it anything in the engine?

my car is crazy!!!however i adore it. I do not know what is wrong with it however not even 2 of my buddies who're mechanichs know shit about it. PROBLEM: my car wont crank sometimes; it only turns over however not a thing else happens, exept my battery goes dead. first i understood it was the fuel pump, however i was told it could need a distributor. I only put the distributor in last 3 days ago and the car cranked right after I place it in, however the following day it did not crack till today that i tried again. Immediately I do not know what to fix on it!!! I thought about putting a new fuel pump and the O2 sensors in it could assist however I do not know fi that is going to fix it. so simply if you've an opinion i'll truly appreciate it. and if you believe you understand what's wrong with my auto....please tell me prior to i put too much in the wrong parts!! thank yall and hope to hear from ya. Pee-wee
