Broken transmission of honda accord 97, what are the options now??i have a 97 honda acoord exceptional edition and i am the third owner. the car has around 180k on it. i recently got the regular service done. however this weeekend the transmission broke. the car was properly maintained, however i dont understand how the transmission problem came up. the CAA (toronto) guys are suggesting to obtain a new transmission or a used one. however the thing is that a new one will cost no different as the auto, and used transmissions dont sound great either. pls provide your suggestions, what can be achieved immediately ????Read more on this topic '02 Honda Accord EX transmission replacement - does anyone know if American Honda Corp typically......reimburse? I've a 2002 Accord EX with 90k miles. I must replace the transmission - is this typical for Hondas at 90k miles?! I had my own shop do the work seeing as it's about $600 cheaper than the Honda dealership. I have filed a complaint with Honda Customer Care for a reimbursement. Does anybody have experience with this? What are my chances of getting reimbursed?Read more on this topic I have a 99 Honda Odyssey EX with 133K mi & the transmission makes a loud thud when upshifting fromD1 to D2.? During the upshift, the tach revs up from 2K RPM to about 4K RPM as if it was on neutral or park for about 1 second then goes into D2 (while the van is accelarating). No different happens when it upshifts to D3 however not too noticeable to D4. Is getting a used low mileage transmission worth or is it still repairable ?
