Honda transmission settlement..??I am truly confused about this settlement. First it states that you should have purchased or leased after November 1998 AND have under 109,000 miles as of August 2006. However then, it says something about needing to have under 109,000 miles at the time of repair. Which is it? I have had a ticking sound coming from my tranny for a while, that no Honda tech bothered to have a look at. I've 138,000 miles on my car immediately. Also, Honda never sent me the notice of transmission troubles and them extending the warranty to 100,000 miles....my tranny is lastly going out, and Honda has not even mentioned the 109,000 extention. When I put in my VIN, it says that I am eligible, and I got the notice in the mail regarding the settlement. Any ideas??? It's sort of conflicting. I know I had under 109K last August.....It did not fail, I only had difficulties with it ticking and jerking when it went into 2nd gear. This was for an extensive period of time too (strange) and when I mentioned it, they said it was fine. IMMEDIATELY, that I am not covered, it is a problem. I think it's shady.Read more on this topic 4 year old honda needs new transmission?!?My buddy has a 4 year of age honda civic (guide) with an extended warranty and 116K on it. Recently she was told that she needs a new transmission for the reason that of a number of bearing, not for the reason that of transmission fluid levels. She asked in previous time at regular maintenance times if she should've her transmission fluid changed and the mechanics have not specifically recommended it verbally or on her receipts. Honda says her warranty will not cover this dilemma for the reason that she did not have her transmission fluid changed at the recommended 96K-however the mechanic also stated that this transmission (bearing) problem isn't related to her transmission oil! Does anybody think she should've to shell out for this or does anybody see a way she can get out of it? by saying the transmission fluid has not a thing to do with it however not enabling it to be covered under warranty for the reason that of the oil is like saying it's not covered for the reason that she did not get her tires rotated or something else that is irrelevant, do not you think?116,000kms=72,000milesRead more on this topic Are there any Honda Odyssey (1999-2002) owners who've experienced transmission problems?I am thinking of buying a 1999-2002 Honda Odyssey minivan. Unfortunately I have heard a number of stories regarding the transmissions on these mininvas being troublesome. Immediately I do not desire the opinions of only a handful of individuals influence my decision. Hondas are known for their quality so I locate it difficult to accept as true that there would be and difficulties. I see these vans all around the place so they cannot be all bad. Any one have any info to reveal to me?Read more on this topic
