Why is my 2007 Civic Lx getting bad mileage?As advertised im supposed to gain 30/40 mpg city/hwy respectively...and i do a lil bit of both city and hwy yet im not even close to what im supposed to gain...i was getting 23-25 mpg and i'm VERY frustrated with Honda...only purchased it about 4 months ago...i really adore the car however the mileage isn't even close!any ideas why?Uncertain what size engine i've...i've the default one i guess? lol im not an car whiz however yea i've the standard one i guess?uhm id say im a pretty safe driver and drive in under speed limits maybe the occasional accelerate quickly on hwy however i usually never pass 5k rpm markthe car just has about 2500 miles so far....and i use regular fuel only as they directed me to use...i make the mpg calculations myself...how a lot gallons i put versus how a lot miles i drivei do agree all these make a difference in my mpg rating however is it supposed to be this drastic? 23 to 30/40?Read more on this topic Car mileage 20 years ago, and today. What's going on here? We are getting ripped off...?1984, my buddy had a Honda CRX. 4 cylinder, quick and cute. 40 to 50 miles per gallon. 2006, Honda has the Civic, and the Fit. The Honda Fit is no different size as the CRX, most likely lighter, more technology in the 4 cylinder engine, yet the gas mileage is 30-40 miles per gallon. 22 years later, and the gas mileage is LOWER than the old CRX. How is this possible? Who is screwing the American individuals? My theory is that the gas companies most likely "donate" billions to the car makers and say "make a wonderful auto, however let's not mess amongst MPG."Read more on this topic JDM F22B Bad gas mileage?Alcon I have a 1993 Honda Prelude 4SW SI that came w/a H23 and automatic transmission. I blew the engine and swapped in a F22B DOHC JDM engine. The dilemma I've is that the car gets very bad gas mileage about 15MPG. I understood it may be for the reason that I did not have the knock sensor hooked up. However then I JB weld a nut to a blank hole above the oil filter and installed the knock sensor and I am still getting very poor gas mileage. Any suggestions on what the dilemma may be or the way to boost the mpg? Do I must change to a JDM EMC? What's the correct model JDM EMC that fits the vehicle? PS most certainly I replaced all the plugs and wires. I did not change the distributor.Read more on this topic
