1986 Civic Funny noise under load?I only bought a 1986 honda civic with a 1.5L carburated (sp) engine. Immediately, theres no tach so i cant let you know what RPM however when in lower RPMs in a gear the engine ticks very rapidly when I provide any more than light light throttle. It sounds like it's too lean. The reason i say that's i'd a fuel injected saab with an incredibly pinched fuel line that made no different noise until I fixed the fuel line. I do not know much about carburator tuning so I'm searching for assist or ideas on the way to fix this ticking noise. thank you.You ave mentioned the Valves. Dealer says it's normal; a number of cars are louder or quieter. There is not a thing they can do about it. They checked external parts - they are OK. It sounds like the exhaust programme is bad.
