How often do you change oil in Honda?My sister works at the honda dealership. Both her and the guide says to adjust the oil in a 6 cyl after 7,000 miles and in a 4 cyl. after 10,000 miles. I've a 2005 4 cyl. and have driven maybe 4500 miles with no an oil change. It's at around 58k total miles on the auto. It only worries me to go very long. However I know Hondas have good engines and last a long long long time with the correct maintanence. Ought to I change it 3k to 5k miles only to be on the safe side? I took it back to Walmart. They did not locate any leaks. They said the oil filter could be defective as it was wet. The filter was not leaking. I had the oil filter replaced by them however the smell persists. Could it be that the oil filter Walmart uses cause the dilemma? The car has just 19K miles and did not have this dilemma prior to. I consistantly changed oil at the dealer prior to.The smell just comes when the heat is on and I'm drawing air from outside i.e. recirculate is off. Also, it increases noticeably when the car is park position. Smell is burning oil related. It has been 5 days already. Could this be why I am burning very much oil? Is this part of the ECG? My buddy told me it could be the "charcoal Canister," does this sound right? Will it cost alot to fix? Please assist me!
