Oil pan replacement?I went to Honda today to find out how come my car is shaking around 35mph. I've a 2006 Accord with 50,000 miles. They could not locate the dilemma. I'll only need to wait until it gets worse. Anyways, the mechanic said that in a small number of oil changes I'll must replace the oil pan for about $300. I needed to have this thing replaced on my last Accord. Is it difficult to replace? I rather only purchase it on the internet and have my brother in law install it.Read more on this topic How do you properly seal a honda oil pan?I've a '91 civic and when replacing the gasket I put a number of Permatex on the corners. Is this right? After tightening the bolts and starting it, it began to leak. Ought to I've waited for the Permatex to dry? I place it on both sides of the gasket. How tight is too tight? Also, I found it impossible to place that plate covering the flywheel on first then torque the bolts for the reason that amongst plate on you are able to't get to 2 of the oil pan bolts. However, if you tighten the oil pan bolts first you are able to't put the plate on for the reason that it has 2 of the oil pan bolts to hold it on. Has anybody ever run into this dilemma? Thank you for any input.Read more on this topic PCV valve = oil burning? My 99 accord has been smoking bluish white smoke out of the exhaust just at high RPMS- 5000 and up, however NOT at lower RPMS. Obviously I rarely go that high, however I have feared the worst. I have checked the coolant, it is green with no contamination. today a mechanic discovered that somebody installed the wrong pcv valve on the auto- the one that belongs on the v6 model, and that it's somehow larger. the mechanic suggested it was possible that this was the cause of the smoke- the oil was getting into the intake manfold, and into the cat, and that when the engine is at higher rpms, and the gases/ heat boost, it burns up the oil in the manifold/cat. He said IF that's the cause it ought to clear up in a week or so. Does this sound to great to be sincere? or is it possible? the car does have 160,000 on it, however i have owned several hondas with a lot lot more mileage that did not smoke at all.Read more on this topic
