Need help with o2 sensors 99 Base Honda Prelude?Hello everybody. I never noticed that there was this option on yahoo. Has this always been around? Well straight to the point. I've a 1999 Honda prelude base. Dilemma is that my primary o2 sensor has gone bad. I pulled code P0131. P0131 Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Primary HO2S) (Sensor 1) Circuit Low Voltage. So basically I must replace my o2 sensor. I did a number of fact finding study and looks VERY simple. One problem though. Which o2 sensor do I purchase? OEM (Original Equip Manufacturer) prices the primary o2 sensor at 275-300 dollars; while AEM (Aftermarket Equip Manufacturer) prices the primary o2 sensor at about 70-200 bucks. OEM sensors are way too over priced while AEM is much cheaper. I realize that if I purchase an OEM sensor, I'll only need an easy, “Out amongst old, In amongst New” sensor application. What about AEM brand sensors? Is there an AEM brand sensor where I'll not must splice the wires? Only a easy, “Out amongst old, In amongst New”. If so which brand? Boch? Denso?Read more on this topic How can I tell if my o2 sensor is bad?I've a 98Honda civic and I was wondering if anybody knew if I'm able to diagnose an o2 sensor myself. My car wont pass smog for the reason that of the catty, leak in exaust or o2 sensor.
