Shifting 1997 Honda Civic DX?I only bought a Honda Civic DX and do not have the owners guide. I've been driving stick for 11 years immediately, however my boyfriend is arguing with me about when to shift. I would prefer to know the info that's usually in the owners guide about when to shift. Thank you!Thank you for all the info so far...here is the kicker--it doesn't have a tachometer! From a dead stop sometimes it stays in one gear with high rpms until 30 mph. Then it shifts into the following gear, the rpms drop down and there's a large torque boost after that. shifting between gears is very jerky especially at low speeds. There's only bearly enough power for safe highway driving and I know for a fact that I'm able to take this car to a mechanic when I've the cash. (key point). I was hoping there's a screw or cable I'm able to turn myself. Would I gain the ability to adjust the shifting using the guide?Read more on this topic
