Why Wont my speedometer work on my 1995 accord?well i've a '95 Honda Accord LX 2.2L and it is not a V6. Well my dilemma is that my speedometer has never truly worked since the day we bought it. My guess was that when the previous owner tried to tamper amongst miles they somehow messed something up....however then again we did purchase a new dash however i dont know why it is still not working. Like 2 months ago we got the speed sensor changed and the speedmeter worked, however not right it jump to like 60 MPH and then adjust itself to the right speed and immediately it just works when it wants to. Sometimes it goes good, sometimes it will be doing the hula, sometimes it's steady however the majority of definitely studying at the wrong speed (120mph when I am doing 40mph).The Odometer and tripometer (the one amongst button to reset) work Good! I know the dilemma is either the speedometer cable or the speed sensor, however where on the car are they located? I am fairly handy with cars, however it's a new one for me, so simply assist me out with it.Thank you,--Lee AnnRead more on this topic Why is my speedometer and gas gage getting "stuck" in my Honda Civic?I recently noticed that my 02 Honda civic's speedometer and gas gages are getting stuck. They will both go up and down, however not smoothly. Like it hits a bump, and has to push past it, and then will sort of jolt to where it's supposed to be. If I tap at the glass, usually both will go into where it's supposed to be, however sometimes the speedometer takes awhile to go back to zero, or will sit at like ten, even when I am parked. I am uncertain if it is a problem a little WD40 could fix, or if it's electical/wiring.Also, the other gages like the RPM work only fine.Sorry to ask even more, however thank you for the replies! Is it over priced to fix the gages? Everything worked good when I took it for a trial drive, however, my speedometer won't do the trick the majority of the time immediately. It goes immediately and then however usually not. My check engine light also comes on about 2 miles or so down the road... not at all times though. Is that for the reason that of the speedometer? How can I check the Engine codes and where can I get detailed material on deciphering them? I also notice smoke with a weird oil-burning smell coming from my steering column...I only recently had a starting problem, so it could be from that, however it's truly strange amongst speedometer/tach thing...I am sort of scared to drive it, and I do many highway driving.
