why does my car stall?I've a p1457 engine code on and my car only began stalling. It says EVAP leak detected and tank cannot hold vacuum. A shady mechanic told me it was the charcoal cannister. Ive had the light on for a few weeks noew and only yesterday uit began stalling. My radiator was leaking about a week ago, I got it fixed though, I had it replaced. 2 days ago i was driving and i noticed that water was leaking. I checked, and i noticed that a water tube was leaking (tube next to the intake and engine)! It leaked about 2 gallons of water in about 10 mins!!! I needed to go to the mechanic which lived about 5 miles away. When I was getting there my engine was over heating. It wasnt smoking however the temp meter was at about 85% (it is usually @ about 45%). When half ways there I noticed that my car was losing "power". It wouldnt accelerate when taking off or when bearly gaining speed. When I got to the mech, he replaced the broken tube, everything went great, however i notice that my car wont accelerate as quick as it used to!! AND IT STALLS once in a while when taking off or gaining speed!!!! WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH MY AUTO? I do not know where to go from here, i am thinking a fuel problem however i am uncertain. I'm able to start it back up the majority of the time and make it to a gas station. Everytime this happens I put about 20 dollars in and that is always about 7 or 8 gallons. I know the tank is bigger than that. I thought maybe this was my fuel pump, however I have heard of this happening to another person and replaceing the pump did not assist.Read more on this topic What Could Cause A 2001 Honda Accord 2dr V6 To Stall While Driving?I've an 01 Accord V6 with an car Trans. (all stock) with approx 95K miles that has stalled on three different unrelated occasions. The 1st time happened only after I merged onto the interstate at 65-70 mph. The engine became unresponsive, the car began to slow down, I drove onto the shoulder and it died. I place it in neutral, began it, and it drove fine for two months. The second time it happened was while holding a steady speed of about 35 mph on a highway amongst same symptoms. The third time was around 2-3 months later while slowing down for a red light. All three times I had around 1/2 tank of gas and was at normal operating temperature and all three times happened a similar way by becoming unresponsive then stalling then starting right back up.
