Why won't my Honda Civic start?I've a 1999 Honda Civic hatchback and it's dead! The engine will not turn over, the headlights will not turn on, not a thing! I replaced the battery with a new one, but even now not a thing. There was many white and blue residue powder on the aged one. My brother-in-law thinks it's either the battery cable that connects to the auto's pc or it could be the starter. And yes, it has gas in it.Thank you, I'll attempt getting a multimeter.Yes, the cable connections were cleaned.Brother-in-law checked the fuses under the dash, near the steering column.Fuses looked ok. Will attempt searching for "inertia switcher".Still keeping "karma" open as a possibility, I ought to never have given my Civic to my mom and replaced it with a Fit. My fuel economy on the Fit sucks a** and my Civic decided to revolt by pulling this crap on me. I am turning it into a race car for a compact car division at the local race track. The individual I bought it from told us that it sat for three years or more. It sounds like water in the tank, however I have already put dry gas in it. Does it need carburatuer cleaner? New plug wires? What can I do to assist it start better?Read more on this topic
