What do they do? when they say the car needs a transmission over haul.?My car ( 1999 Honda, Accord, EX, 4 cyl.) transmission makes a noise when it's in P or Neutral position, when in D or other position it doesn't. I went to a transmission guy he told me the car needs a transmission over haul. What can be the dilemma, any guess as to how much does it cost & for how long will the transmission work after the over haul? However recently today as i took it to purchase a number of stuff. I noticed the light where it says P-R-N-D4-D3-2-1 next to the other speedometers. The D4 began to blink and i dont think it is a fuse problem seeing as it was blinking at a steady pace. What does this mean?Read more on this topic My Del Sol is having transmission problems. New trans fluid.I am hearing a sound, similar to a rotating slightly grinding sound, when I let the clutch out, however it does not make the sound amongst clutch pressed in. Which makes me think it's the throw-out bearing... However when I am driving and the car is in gear it does not make the sound until around 2300-3100 RPMs in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear. And not at all in 4th or 5th. However, I have not had the tach over 4000 in any gear since the dilemma began. Immediately, when I am up to speed theres no noise, however when I slow down I hear a knocking grind, like rotational grind from lack of lubricant, amongst clutch in OR out while in NEUTRAL, 1st, 2nd or 3rd I hear the sound until the car stops however not when it is in 4th or 5th, when it does stop it slows as the car does until theres no sound at a stand still.
