is there always VTEC printed on Honda VTEC Engines?

Hello. I am a college student and my car only recently broke down (1990 oldsmobile) and the shop individuals said they need to put a new engine in for about 2k so i figured since it is not that good of an car ill only get another used one. im thinking a civic for the reason that of affordability, durability, and fuel economy.so heres my question. ive been shopping around on cars.com (if neone else has any other popular sites lemme know) and ive found honda civics that say they're LX and EX (which ought to always have VTEC engines vs the DX right?) and the pictures of the engine dont show VTEC on them. (the majority of are 1994-97) Does that mean they're falsely advertising or am i misinformed?appreciate the assist.

Why would a car that has VTEC come in automatic?

I own a 2007 Honda Civic Si sedan and I know first hand that VTEC doesn't "kick in" until 5800RPM. Is it difficult, if not unlikely to rev an automatic transmission car that high in higher gears. If I'm missing something please tell me. Thank you. By the way- my Civic is getting it's transmission replaced (yes already!!) and I'm stuck with a 07 Accord LX. What a piece of crap! This thing is soooo slooooooowww.
