How can i fix the VTEC in my engine..?EG8 civic 92 model automatic fuel injected....i'd a problem amongst engine during driving the engine shakes & moves like it a guide vehicle..the mechanic told me that it's the timing...so he time the engine & it did assist the truth that when slowing down the tranny changes the gears normal.....however the vibration is still there ..so the mechanic checked the VTEC & realize that it's not working .....however when he applied current to the VTEC while reving the engine the engine runs great & the power kicks in .....he said the ECU box (brain box) is giving trouble.....well i am wondering if the VTEC isn't working why the check light NOT reporting this fault...? & how can i repair this ..? i should get assist fast...it's drinking alot of gas....Read more on this topic VTEC blowup?i own a '96 civic ek which i've changed the engine to a b18c on can 2004... it was my first auto, which i had gave my sis to drive... recently, my sis gave it back to me, so i took my t55 garrett from my FTO n place it in the b18c... i ran well however after 2 months, my whole engine blew up... pistons, etc... the turbo blew up as well... that turbo was bought march a year ago n ran well on my FTO... how could this possibly happen? i revved the engine to 9000+ rpm prior to it blew up.... with no the turbo, it can effortlessly be revved to 10000+ prior to hitting 2nd gear.... is it bcos the turbo isn't configured too well on the b18c or is it bcos i revved it too high? #turbo boost is set to 1.5barRead more on this topic which vtec head is best?i've a 97 jdm b20b. 1st of all, i am still unconvinced if it's no different as usdm 99-00 b20z2. i have had both, the z is stronger, however maybe it's the head. i've a b16 head(type r intake cam) on the b20b and i'd a gsr(stock) on the b20z2. is the gsr head going to create a stronger motor? let's put the itr head outta the question. i know the gsr will bump up compression .2 higher.Read more on this topic
